Collective Effort For Claiming Sanitation Rights

A training course on “Strengthening Capacity of CBOS/CSOs to Raise Their Voices for SWIS/SMSS” was held on 16-17 September 2023 in the Haor & Tea Garden-based Sreemangal Municipality, Moulvibazar. The Panel Mayor Md. Kazi Abdul Karim inaugurated the training course with the participation of 30 participants.
The CBO/CSO representatives, councilors, representatives of low-caste (Harizon), journalists, and public toilet leaseholders attended the 2-day course organized by MAC Bangladesh, the local FANSA-BD member.
The participants including 9 females were oriented on the necessity of Inclusive Sanitation and the role of CSOs & CBOs in claiming the safely managed sanitation services (SMSS) from the duty bearers. As an outcome, the participants planned to start a city cleaning movement with the assistance of Sreemangal Municipality.
